find RAM memory type

If you need to add more system RAM memory to your PC, you will need to find out what type of memory module your system accepts. Here's how to find out that information without pulling out the screwdriver.

    • Download and and install a free program called System Information for Windows

    • On left side of program's window, look into the HARDWARE section

    • Within the HARDWARE section, click on the label for "Memory"

    • On right side of program's window, look for the following labels:

      • Capacity

      • Memory Type

      • Speed

    • Write down that information, go to your local electronics store, and show that to the salesman.
