G1 Phone
In this section, we test drive a few of features of the G1 smartphone.
Some basic details:
The G1 phone was the first phone in the U.S. to use the Android operating system.
Android is an operating system is currently developed by Google for cellphones - or more accurately, smartphones.
The G1 phone is sold through T-Mobile and was manufactured by HTC (High Tech Computer Corp)
Several new Android-based phones have been released on T-Mobile since the G1 (MyTouch, Droid, etc.)
Version 1.6 of the Android operating system is what is currently available for the G1 phone.
Newer Android phones (like the Droid from Verizon) can sport v2.0 of the Android operating system.
